Get Creative Writing Competition!

01 February 2017

We are delighted to announce the launch of The Get Creative Writing Competition, an exciting project working with Year 5 and 6 pupils from local primary schools and our Year 7 pupils.

The competition is devised to inspire pupils to write their own adventure stories in no more than 500 words. The primary school children will visit us on Thursday and Friday 2nd and 3rd February to take part in a writing workshop with published children's author Mark Robson who will guide them through the writing process. The pupils will then work with our Sixth Form Art and Design students to create designs for the front cover of their finished stories.

An exhibition of shortlisted competition entries will be held in our Sports Hall on Friday and Saturday 17th and 18th March and MP Philip Dunne will present prizes to the winners and runners-up in a special ceremony on the afternoon of Friday 17th March at our Sports Hall.

Good luck to all pupils taking part in the competition. We look forward to receiving and reading your stories.

Children's author, Mark Robson, is coming to Oldbury Wells on Thursday and Friday 2nd and 3rd February to run an interactive writing workshop with local primary school children and our Year 7 pupils as part of the 'Get Creative Writing Competition'.
